Hip Pain
Hip pain can make everyday activities such as walking, climbing stairs, getting in and out of a car, putting on shoes and socks, exercising or playing sport difficult. It can develop gradually over time or start suddenly following an injury, and there are several different conditions that can cause similar symptoms. Pain may be felt in the groin, on the outside of the hip, in the buttock or sometimes further down the thigh.
At Bristol Joint Injections, we assess the likely cause of your hip pain before discussing whether an injection could be appropriate. Depending on the underlying problem treatment may include physiotherapy, exercise, activity modification, medication or an ultrasound-guided injection.
We commonly assess hip conditions including osteoarthritis, greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS), gluteal tendinopathy, bursitis, iliopsoas tendon problems and other causes of pain around the hip joint.
What Causes Hip Pain?
Hip pain can stem from the joint itself, surrounding soft tissues, or even the lower back. A clear diagnosis ensures you receive targeted, effective care.
