Shoulder Pain Assessment & Treatment

Shoulder pain can turn simple tasks like dressing, driving, reaching, or sleeping into a daily challenge. Because several conditions cause similar symptoms, getting an accurate diagnosis is the essential first step.

At Bristol Joint Injections, our senior MSK clinicians use in-clinic ultrasound imaging to pinpoint the exact source of your discomfort and deliver targeted, long-lasting relief. We routinely evaluate and manage key shoulder conditions including frozen shoulder, subacromial pain, AC joint pain, shoulder bursitis, and rotator cuff problems.

What Causes Shoulder Pain?

The shoulder is a complex joint, and pain can stem from the main socket, surrounding tendons, or soft tissue.

Common Causes of Shoulder Pain:

  • Tendons & Bursae: Rotator cuff tendinopathy or tears, subacromial pain syndrome, and bursitis.

  • Joint Issues: Shoulder osteoarthritis, AC joint arthritis/irritation, and frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis).

  • Trauma & Strain: Sports injuries, acute trauma, and repetitive overhead strain.

Accurate diagnosis is key to effective treatment. We offer on-site high-resolution ultrasound during your consultation, can review prior scans, or arrange MRI referrals if needed.
