Plantar Fasciitis
What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Repeated micro-tearing, strain, or degeneration of the plantar fascia which is the thick, fibrous band of connective tissue that spans the bottom of the foot, running from the heel bone to the toes to support the plantar arch and absorb impact.
Clinical symptoms include:
Sharp, stabbing, or aching pain under the heel or medial arch. The pain is classically most severe during the first few steps in the morning or after prolonged periods of rest, often easing slightly as the foot warms up but worsening again after intense activity or long periods of standing.
Treatment
Precision ultrasound-guided corticosteroid injections combined with a long-acting local anesthetic to rapidly suppress localized inflammation and disrupt chronic pain pathways.
